| What Makes Them "Women's-Specific?"
Tubbs, the first manufacturer to introduce women's-specific snowshoes in 1998, addresses the fact that women, on average, have a shorter walking stride than men. Likewise, on average, they have smaller boot volumes and a different walking gait. So, through extensive research, Tubbs created a women's-specific snowshoe platform that features tapered frames (the tails are 15% narrower than men's models), to accommodate a more natural walking stride; and bindings that are engineered to more closely interface with a woman's boot shape and size. |
